Seller callback requests without instant valuations

A potential seller may ask the assistant to estimate a property’s value before an agent has reviewed the home and the relevant context.

01

The decision to make first

A potential seller may ask the assistant to estimate a property’s value before an agent has reviewed the home and the relevant context. Capture the request for a seller consultation and keep valuation, pricing strategy and representation discussions with the authorized agent.

02

What the handoff should contain

Include property address if volunteered, owner’s contact preference, broad timing and the question they want the agent to address.

03

Suggested wording to approve

Example wording: “I can arrange for the team to discuss your selling plans. I cannot provide a property valuation or promise a sale price through this intake.”

04

Test the difficult case

Test a caller seeking an immediate number, one exploring a future sale and one contacting the team on another owner’s behalf. Do not convert a public estimate or another property’s price into a business-endorsed valuation for the caller’s home.

05

Worked example

Fictional example: An owner asks for an immediate selling price based only on the address. The assistant records a seller-consultation request and the question the owner wants answered. It should not repeat an online estimate as the team’s valuation or promise that an eventual listing will sell for a particular amount or within a fixed period.

06

Review it in operation

Review whether the agent received the seller’s actual question and whether the initial conversation avoided creating unsupported price expectations.
